Roof repairs

Most roof problems start small: a slipped slate, cracked ridge mortar, a failed lead flashing around the chimney, or blocked gutters pushing water back under the tiles. Left alone they become rotten timbers and stained ceilings. We find the actual cause rather than patching the symptom, and we tell you honestly whether a repair will last or whether the roof is genuinely at the end of its life.

Full re-roofs

When a roof has had its day we strip it back to the rafters, replace any timbers that need it, fit new breathable membrane and battens, and re-cover in tiles or slates matched to the house and the street. Ridge and hip tiles are mechanically fixed to current standards, verges are finished properly, and new fascias, soffits and guttering can be done at the same time while the scaffold is up.

Flat roofs

Old felt flat roofs on extensions, garages, bays and dormers are one of the most common sources of leaks in Greater Manchester homes. We replace them with modern high-performance systems, insulated to current standards, with proper falls so water actually drains rather than ponding.
